Lo Jewelry Since 1996
Our founder Lo’s journey into the world of jewelry began at a young age, crafting pieces from anything she could find - from sunflowers to buttons. Her passion deepened during her teenage years in Greece, where the islands, like Amorgos, inspired her to pursue artistry as a life’s work. She later honed her skills at goldsmith school in Copenhagen, dedicating herself to creating custom, one-of-a-kind pieces that each tell a unique story.
Quick Questions with our founder Lo
What unexpected place or thing has given you the most inspiration for a design?
"Long ago, I created a one-of-a-kind ring called Pregnant. I have the privilege of being an identical twin. We share a natural telepathic connection, one that perhaps isn't common among siblings. I’m often asked what it feels like to be an identical twin. But honestly, how would I know? I’ve never been anything else. When my twin became pregnant, I felt an immediate, deep connection to the unborn child.
To express this bond, I crafted a silver bowl, placing a small, precious, bright red spinel within it. I surrounded the bowl with a clear rock crystal, cut in a half-round shape. When you gaze through the crystal, you can see life itself pulsing, breathing—a large, round belly, a rattle. It’s a tribute to the miracle of life."
What is the most unique material you have ever used in a piece of jewelry?
"I've always been drawn to using unexpected and rare materials in my jewelry. But perhaps the most surprising thing I've ever worked with is dinosaur bone and meteorites. The thought alone is breathtaking – that here and now, in our time, I have the chance to create with the bones of prehistoric creatures and stones that have traveled through space. It feels like holding a piece of magic in my hands. Honestly, it’s beyond logic, and it's such an honor for me to transform these incredible materials into jewelry that carries such a unique history. Each piece becomes a window into the deepest secrets of both the Earth and the universe."
When did you first realize that jewelry was the field you wanted to pursue?
"Creating and designing has been a part of who I am for as long as I can remember. Even as a child, I felt a deep need to bring beauty into the world around me. Where I grew up, there were no sparkling gemstones or fancy pearls to work with. But that didn’t stop me. My imagination filled the gaps, and I turned to nature for inspiration.
I made delicate dresses from the greenest seaweed I could find, dried rowan berries overnight to weave into tiny tiaras, and crafted dandelion crowns that brought smiles to everyone who wore them. I even created jewelry from pine cones, berries, leaves, and ice—transforming simple, everyday things into something magical.
Looking back, I realize that my desire to create wasn’t just about making something beautiful; it was about the joy of sharing that beauty with others. I believe that this urge to adorn ourselves, to add a touch of wonder to our surroundings, is deeply rooted in us all—a connection that reaches back to the very beginning of human expression."
